Executive Chef Matthew MacNaughton is a Michigan native, beginning his career in northern Michigan working alongside many great Chefs. Culinary Arts runs strong in his family as he has been baking alongside his father since age 3.  He has developed a talent in French, Latin, American Bistro, and Asian Cuisine and his faire has now graced the City of Grand Rapids for over 10 years.  After studying Business and Political Science at Grand Valley State University, he quickly realized his passion was in the Culinary Arts and soon returned to the kitchen becoming our Executive Chef.  Matthew is a Chef that believes in supporting his local community and farms while moving forward in modern cuisine and you will taste the farm-to-table difference here at Louis Benton. To him cooking is an Art and every Artist knows that no one wants to paint the same picture time and time again.
